Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a teacher while her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin, her twin brothers. From a young age McCormick enjoyed singing and dance and would often put on puppet shows for kids in the community. When McCormick was six years older, she was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency called to ask her if she'd be interested in entering the show business. McCormick was offered her first significant task in 1964 when she appeared in a commercial on television for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she was featured in another television commercial for the doll Chatty Cathy. After that, she was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the eldest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show ran for five seasons and the show proved to be a huge success. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity while on stage of the show during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 at the time and he was just 19. The two of us could have been in a couple, she added. However, the timing was not right.
